Elkhorn Slough

Elkhorn Slough is one of the largest and last remaining coastal wetlands in California. It is one of only 28 National estuarine reserves in the US. Located at the center of Monterey Bay, it is home to all kinds of wildlife - otters, sea lions, 350 species of birds, fish and hundreds of invertebrates. In 2008 it was also designated as a marine protected area.
